An international shipment changes hands repeatedly: origin transport, ocean carrier, port, inland movement, and domestic delivery may all use different systems and tracking identifiers. I built backend services that preserved continuity across those handoffs so the journey could be understood as one shipment rather than several disconnected records.
- Designed and developed distributed backend services using Java and AWS for cross-border transportation and shipment-tracking workflows.
- Built integrations that linked tracking identifiers across origin, ocean transit, port, inland transport, and domestic last-mile handoffs, creating continuity across a previously fragmented shipment journey.
- Developed asynchronous workflows using Amazon SQS with failure handling and dead-letter queue patterns for recovery and fallback processing.
- Built data-processing and retrieval workflows across more than one million transportation and shipment records in DynamoDB, supporting operational workflows and production troubleshooting.
- Developed an online document-management and workflow automation system using Java and AWS, reducing manual work and improving the reliability of Global Mile transportation workflows.
